To foster dissemination and capitalisation of the SwitchMed Blue Economy’s results, the Networking Facility works at different scales targeting multiple audiences and enabling knowledge transfer and the uptake of best practices.

The Networking Facility supports demand-side actions to foster Blue Economy products and services consumption, engaging stakeholders and consumers along its value chains.

The Networking Facility combines networking, communication and dissemination activities to accelerate the uptake of Blue Economy sectors in both traditional industrial sectors and innovative green entrepreneurship.

Three main lines of action are envisaged:

1. Dissemination of results
The role of the Networking Facility is to capture and disseminate the results of the actions, providing the highest possible visibility to the importance of a sustainable Blue Economy in the Mediterranean, and facilitating the exchange of lessons learned within the wide SwitchMed stakeholder’s community.

2. Mainstreaming Blue Economy and networking stakeholders
The Networking Facility is a platform to access key events, mainstreaming sustainable Blue Economy principles, programme achievements and successful business cases.

SwitchMed partners with stakeholders and initiatives in the region to increase the visibility of sustainable Blue Economy entrepreneurs. Some examples are:
– Switchers ECOncrete, AGIR or TNAGEM featured in the “Greening the Blue Economy” UfM publication
– Sponsoring Blue Economy Switchers to attend networking events such as SwitchMed Connect, AMWAJ, the Mediterranean Forum on Water and Energy.

3. Increased support to consumption of sustainable products and services for the Blue Economy
Thanks to the Switch Products website, products and services from the Blue Economy are given visibility, supporting entrepreneurs and SMEs to better convey their value proposition and find potential customers.
Open innovation mechanisms are also available, via the Switchers.org platform, to support mission-oriented innovation and matchmaking among entrepreneurs and potential clients, at public and private levels.
