22 representatives of 16 Moroccan organisations participated in this meeting and expressed their interest in sharing this initiative. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the member structures and will define the terms of cooperation.

This national partnership will support the Moroccan ecosystem for the development of green and circular business models and companies. It will bring together public, private, and non-profit organisations, which target sustainable businesses, and will offer complementary services to green entrepreneurs at different stages of their business development (ideation, creation, growth and scaling-up).

“This initiative is a first in Morocco,” said Mr. Youssef Errami, director of the Centre des Très Petites Entreprises Solidaires.

On the operational side, this partnership will ensure the transfer of methodologies and capacities to member organisations of the national partnership, through the tools available on the web platform under development by the Sustainable Consumption and Production Regional Activity Centre (SCP/RAC). These partner structures will provide support to green entrepreneurs according to the methodology developed by SwitchMed, while channelling additional funds and promoting joint strategies and actions for the development of sustainable businesses in Morocco.

“This initiative comes at a relevant time and coincides with the start of the entrepreneurship support program in Morocco, launched by His Majesty King Mohamed VI”, said Ms. Seloua Amaziane, Switchmed focal point in Morocco, representing the Ministry of the Environment.
