On the occasion of a pitching event, organized by the Business Center of the Tel Aviv University (local partner of SwitchMed Green Entrepreneurship programme in Israel) on March 15th at the premises of the university, 8 projects out of 10 were selected to start the incubation phase. The green entrepreneurs to be presented their projects and related environmental and social impacts to a jury including members of the Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC) who specifically came to Israel for that event.
The jury previously assessed the green business canvases according to criteria such as feasibility, environmental and social impacts, economic profit and novelty. The business ideas that got the best score were preselected to be presented during the pitching event.
The selected candidates, 10 entrepreneurs (7 of them being women), had drafted their Green Business Canvas during the previous phase of the Green Entrepreneurship programme, namely the Green Business Model development training. With the incubation phase, they will be supported to create their green businesses through an 8-month incubation process including personal mentoring and tailored external technical assistance.
The expected results of the incubation process are:
– 8 Green Business Plans are developed using the online tool of TheSwitchers.org innovative platform.
– the supported entrepreneurs manage to register their company, develop a product and monitor their progresses.
The next step for these incubated entrepreneurs will be their participation at the National Investors Switchers events. There they will pitch their Green Business Plan in front of a jury of selected Sustainable Business Investors in order to reach financial deals and secure funds for their green businesses.
