SwitchMed is thrilled to announce the upcoming WeMed Awards 2023 Ceremony, an event that brings together key players in sustainable business support and innovation across the Mediterranean region.
About the WeMed Awards: Hosted by MedWaves, the Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production under the United Nations Environment Programme Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP), the WeMed Awards is a flagship initiative of the UNEP/MAP Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD). This edition is generously funded by the ENI CBC Med and the SwitchMed Initiative, notably as part of the RESET project.
The WeMed Awards aims to highlight the significance of capitalizing on EU projects and showcase innovative approaches to Green Business Support in the wider ecosystem. This event spotlights the crucial contributions of Business Support Organizations and eco-innovative start-ups toward sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.

WeMed 2023 Edition: This year, the WeMed Award targets Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and Entrepreneurs/Start-ups that have been direct beneficiaries of at least one of the 19 EU-Projects analyzed under RESET. These projects focus on Green Business Creation & Circular Economy, benefitting regions within the ENI CBC MED Program, with a special emphasis on having women and/or youth in their teams.
Award Categories and Prizes:
Business Support Organizations (BSOs): 1 Northern Med Award: Prize of 9,000€, 1 Southern Med Award: Prize of 9,000€
Entrepreneurs/Start-ups: 2 Northern Med Awards: Prize of 9,000€ each (Total: 18,000€), 2 Southern Med Awards: Prize of 9,000€ each (Total: 18,000€)
The prizes are business support vouchers valued at 9,000€, with additional coaching services and technical assistance tailored to the winners’ needs.
